The BCF Scholarships Program provides scholarships to youth of Barbadian heritage pursuing post-secondary education at Canadian universities and colleges. Sponsored by Diproinduca Canada Ltd, a by-product management and alternative raw materials production company serving the steel, oil, and mining industries.
Established as a not-for-profit corporation and registered as a charitable organization in August 2013, our mission is: "To help our youth create their future and improve the lives of those in need."
Scholarships of $4,000 each are available to students who are, or will be studying for an undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate at a Canadian university or college. Consideration will be given to graduate degree students
You are eligible to apply for a BCF Scholarship if:
NOTE: You are also eligible to apply for a BCF Scholarship if you were a previous recipient.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, you will not be eligible to be awarded a BCF Scholarship if any one of your parents or grandparents is or was a Director or Officer of Barbados Canada Foundation on the date that you submitted your application or at any time during the two (2) year period preceding that date.
The following criteria are applied in the selection of scholarship recipients. Each criterion is weighted relative to the order listed below:
Scholarship applications are evaluated by a panel comprised of persons who are not members of the board of directors of Barbados Canada Foundation, following which the board selects the scholarship recipients. Recipients will be notified by August 16th, 2024.
Payment of Scholarship Grants: Each scholarship grant will be paid directly to the university or college being attended by the recipient.

Submit Items 1-6 of the Application Requirements by email to [email protected]. When submitting financial information please provide in Canadian dollars. Deadline for Submission of Applications: Applications must be submitted by email between May 8, 2024, and June 14, 2024. Do NOT apply before May 8, 2024, so that you have the required documents. Applications received after June 14th will not be accepted.
