The Community Grants program aims to strengthen the charitable sector and engage citizens. We have made some adaptations to the program that reflect the ongoing effects of the pandemic, our commitment to Reconciliation, and advancing equity and systemic change.
Since 1955, Calgary Foundation has been nurturing a healthy, vibrant, giving and caring community. The Foundation facilitates collaborative philanthropy by making powerful connections between donors and community organizations for the long-term benefit of Calgary and area. In 2022-23, Calgary Foundation saw $112.5 million in new contributions, 55 new funds established, had an asset base of $1.3 billion and granted $61.4 million to 1,192 charitable organizations. The Community Grants program can only accept applications from registered charities and other qualified donees. Go to the Canada Revenue Agency’s Charities Listings website to determine whether your organization is a qualified donee. If you are not a qualified donee and wish to apply for funding, you can consider the following options:
