Funding from the Department of National Defence (DND) will be used to supplement up to 40 successful existing NSERC award holders at the doctoral and/or postdoctoral level who are funded by an NSERC PGS D, CGS D or PDF award and who are pursuing research in areas of interest to Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), the science and technology organization of DND.
How government works, its priorities, laws, finances, transparency, digital government and policies. Working for the public sector, connect and do business with government.
The objective of the DND/NSERC supplemental funding award is to encourage highly advanced training and research in the natural sciences and engineering in research fields relevant to national defense, for the benefit of Canada. The supplement provides additional funding supports for existing NSERC award holders at the doctoral and postdoctoral training levels at Canadian institutions.
Supplement value:
To be eligible for this supplement, you must hold an active PGS D, CGS D or PDF award at a Canadian institution, and your research project must fall within the research areas of relevance to DND. You may hold more than one supplement over the course of your award, and you will remain eligible for this supplement so long as your award is active. Eligible award holders will be identified based on the proposed research in their initial application.
