The Immigrant & Refugee Services Association PEI (IRSA) has established the Craig Mackie Memorial Scholarship to assist first-generation immigrants to Canada who are in good academic standing at University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) and are contributing to the community.
Immigrant & Refugee Services Association PEI (IRSA, the Association) was incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization in 1993 under the name PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada (PEIANC). In 2021, we changed the organization's name to better reflect who our clients are and what we do. IRSA's mandate is to provide short-term settlement services and deliver long-term inclusion and community participation programs for new immigrants settling in the province of Prince Edward Island. One scholarship valued at $1000 will be awarded per academic year.
Scholarship applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for an award
The IRSA Scholarship Selection Committee will consider the applicants’ previous and current academic record and their community involvement.
Applications are due by 1 December each year.
