Sisters of St. Martha Centennial Award, funded by the St. Dunstan’s University (SDU) Board of Governors, was established in 2016 in honour of the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of the Sisters of St. Martha. The scholarship also recognizes the contribution the Sisters made to SDU. It will be awarded annually to a third or fourth year Prince Edward Island female student in a post-secondary institution who is pursuing studies in the field of ecology, ethics, theology, education, healthcare and social work areas will be considered

Aim and Benefits of Saint Dunstan’s University Sisters of St. Martha Centennial Award
The scholarship is valued at $2,016 per year and is non-renewable.
Requirements for Saint Dunstan’s University Sisters of St. Martha Centennial Award Qualification
- Applicant must be in good academic standing. An official transcript must be forwarded to the Scholarship committee.
- Applicants are required to write a personal letter telling about themselves, their interests and their future work plans. Also applicants must have two letters of reference, one academic and one work-related that are to be sent directly to the SDU Board of Governors.
- Applicants are to demonstrate their leadership and/or participation in activities related to their area of studies. (Please include this information in your personal letter.)
- Applicants should provide evidence of a range of extracurricular activities. (Please include this information in your personal letter.)
- A successful applicant may hold other grants, scholarships, bursaries totalling up to $5,000 per academic year.
- In addition to a completed application form, applicants must provide two letters of reference.
