The International Longshoremen's Association, AFL-CIO is the largest union of maritime workers in North America, representing upwards of 65,000 longshoremen on the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, Great Lakes, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico and Eastern Canada. This scholarship will be awarded to a full or part-time student who is entering or continuing at Saint Mary's University. The recipient must be a member of Halifax Longshoremen’s Association Local 269 I.L.A or a member’s immediate family.
