This scholarship was created to acknowledge and honour Sister Dorothy Moore; a Mi'kmaw Elder known for her commitment to education, her service to community, and her ongoing efforts to defend and promote the rights of Indigenous peoples.

The Sisters of St. Martha's Indigenous (Mi'kmaw) Education Scholarship is valued at $20,000 ($10,000 per year, renewable for 2 years)
For the purposes of this scholarship, eligible candidates are Bachelor of Education students who are identified as Mi'kmaq by one of the Mi'kmaq communities of Eastern Nova Scotia; Membertou, Eskasoni, Potlotek, Wagmatcook, Waycobah, Paqtnkek or Pictou Landing.
