This scholarship program is sponsored by The Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Society of Automotive Engineers, through the generous support of Mr. Bruce R. Aubin, ing, FCAE. Mr. Aubin, retired after 40 years of service with Air Canada. He has been widely recognized in the field of Air Transportation for his initiatives and contribution to the operation of commercial aircraft and the safety of flight. In particular, he was instrumental in revising aircraft maintenance procedures which are still used in aircraft certification to-day. He has dedicated over 50 years of service to the advancement of aerospace engineering. Mr. Aubin was extremely active in the SAE, holding leadership positions such as Chair of the SAE Aerospace Program Office, serving as the 1993 SAE President and subsequently President of the SAE Foundation Canada. He was instrumental in establishing the CAE Scholarship program
The Canadian Academy of Engineering comprises over 800 Fellows who have made outstanding contributions to engineering in Canada and around the world. They have demonstrated their dedication to the application of science and engineering principles to advance social, environmental, economic and technical solutions. One winner each year receives a $2000 honorarium.
Only students who are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada and currently enrolled in an engineering degree program that is accredited by the CEAB or, in the case of new programs is seeking CEAB accreditation. CAEB accredits undergraduate engineering programs.
Candidates should have unique and outstanding leadership skills as demonstrated in project teams or other initiatives working on aeronautics projects. They should have an interest in pursuing a career in the aerospace sector.
Recipients will be notified by the end of April 2024 and the names of the recipients will be posted on our website: www.cae-acg.ca.
