The total value of scholarships and awards already received by an applicant may be considered in the selection for these competitions.
Requirements for University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarships Qualification
- Academic scholarships: applicants must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a minimum of 24 credits over the most recent September to April period.
- Leadership awards: applicants must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a full-time course load over the most recent September to April period.
- Scholarships and awards funded by the Government of Alberta: applicants must be an Alberta Resident as defined by the Alberta Scholarship Act.
- Continuing scholarships and awards: applicants must be continuing full-time in an undergraduate or professional program at the University of Alberta in September 2024 and January 2025.
- Graduating scholarships and awards: applicants must be graduating from an undergraduate or professional program at the University of Alberta.
- Professional entrance or transfer scholarships: applicants must present an admission average that meets or exceeds those required for a specific scholarship.

- Undergraduate Awards
Recognizes top-achieving students based on academic standing and/or exceptional leadership through school and community involvement.
- Graduating Awards
Awarded to top students graduating from their faculty or program.
- Professional Entrance Awards
Awarded to students entering a professional program (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Law, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiation therapy).
- After-degree or Post-secondary Transfer Awards
Awarded to students entering an after-degree program or transferring from another post-secondary institution.
- Prizes
Awarded to top students in a course or set of courses. No application is required as students are automatically considered in conjunction with faculties where needed.
