Awarded to a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry enrolled in or entering a Master of Science or PhD program within the Faculty of Science. Dr Arnold Hiltz was born in Sea View, PEI in 1924. He enrolled at Prince of Wales College, one of UPEI's predecessor institution in 1940 with a Provincial Scholarship for Queen's County, and was in the first class of the newly initiated 'Two Years in One" program offered at that institution. Upon graduation, he entered the Royal Canadian Air Force from which he was honourably discharged as a Flying Officer in 1945.
