Hydro One has a history of fostering the professional growth of women in engineering, creating mutually beneficial opportunities for career development. Part of this support has been community engagement through avenues such as Go Eng Girl and the Women in Engineering, University Partnership. 2014 marked the establishment of the Hydro One Women in Engineering Award, an extension of Hydro One’s tangible support for young women wishing to embark on a career in Engineering. In addition to a cash award, recipients will be offered a paid work term with Hydro One.

Aim and Benefits of Hydro One Women in Engineering Award
- 10 Awards of $5,000 each are available for women-identifying studying engineering at the undergraduate level in accredited Ontario universities.
- Women-identifying award recipients award will also have the opportunity to engage in a paid developmental work term with Hydro One.

Requirements for Hydro One Women in Engineering Award Qualification
All applicants must be:
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants enrolled in full time study in an accredited Ontario University.
- While preference will be given to electrical engineering students, women who have completed a minimum of two year of engineering studies in other areas of specialization (mechanical and civil) are also encouraged to apply.
- Have minimum B+ GPA
- Have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Students must be returning to school on a full time basis
- Applicants must include a copy of their unofficial transcripts and updated resume along with their application.
- Engaged in outreach, volunteer or educational activities with younger girls
