Through the generosity of John Deere Canada, 15 scholarships are available to 4-H members across Canada who plan to pursue a postsecondary education at a Canadian college or university in a degree, certificate or trade-based program in September 2025. Distribution of the scholarships will be as follows and is meant to reflect the 4-H membership base across the country: BC – 1 SK – 2 ON – 2 NB – 1 PE – 1 AB – 3 MB – 2 QC – 1 NS – 1 NL – 1

Aim and Benefits of 4-H Canada John Deere Scholarship
Through the generosity of John Deere Canada, 15 scholarships – valued at $1,000 each – are available to 4-H members across Canada who plan to pursue a post-secondary education at a Canadian college or university in a degree, certificate or trade-based program in September 2025
Requirements for 4-H Canada John Deere Scholarship Qualification
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by January 1, 2025 and a current 4-H member in good standing.
- Applicants must be Canadian residents in their final year of high school, CEGEP or an undergrad student planning to attend college or university in September 2025.
- Applicants must be pursuing education in a degree, certificate or trade-based program.
- Applicants must complete the online application at apply.4-h-canada.ca and include the following: o Answers to all questions in the application. o A letter of offer or acceptance to a full-time program in a college, trade school or university.
- A summary of their 4-H and community involvement. o A 500-word essay (include word count) on one of two topics:
- How can we (you and others) make positive change in our local communities?
- Is technology in agriculture making positive changes to local communities and the environment?
Interview date, Process and Venue for 4-H Canada John Deere Scholarship
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and judged on the following criteria:
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
- Quality of the essay submitted
- 4-H involvement (including number of years, positions held and projects completed)
- Community involvement
- Post-secondary plans (letter of offer or acceptance into eligible program)
- Confirmation of current good standing in a Canadian 4-H club
